Family Tribute
My Hero, My Lujo-lujo
My Hero, my lujo lujo, I never thought I would be writing your tribute this soon. I thought you will live forever.Going down memory lane, I remember how loving and caring you are as a father. The good old days when you would carry me on your shoulders at various worksites, our chanting was "Hello Daddy" Your response : "omo mi o..."
You taught me all I knew growing up, how to wash your car tyres at age 4, teaching me how to read and write, how to sing, dance, and being a lady.
How can I forget the Sunday rituals when we were young: you would line us up before church, comb our hair, powder our faces, spray us with your Tabu perfume and hand us our offering.
Friday night was TGIF, you played your Obey records, dancing with your Top beer in one hand, while we children danced around you with bottles of coke in our hands enjoying the crooning of Obey.
As a father, you corrected with love, understanding, patience and emotions too. You hate to see your children fall ill. You allowed us to choose our path, but guided us, you instilled discipline and Christian virtues.
You were honest, modest, a giver, selfless and making sacrifices for others including your community. E se fun onile, e s fun alejo. Whilst in service, you will split your salary in various envelopes and hand it to me to deliver to your brothers, aunts, uncles and churches..
Dele Odus as you were fondly called, a man with a heart of gold. I couldn't have had a better dad. I will miss dancing with my father. The last time I was with you, we were actually dancing to " Jesu mi seun seun Olorunmi mi seun seun..."
Sleep on dad till we meet at the feet of Christ and continue our dancing.
Hello Daddy... omo mi o!

My Dad, My Hero
When the mirror is broken, you no longer see your image. Love leaves a memory no man can steal but death leaves a memory no man can heal.Daddy, you were the mirror at which I looked at my life. My solace is the fact that you lived a righteous life. Every moment of your life is like a book on a path towards heavenly bliss.
Daddy, you are the true definition of a loving father. When we hurt, you hurt. I will always cherish the wonderful memories I had with you. You were honest and kind. You were clean in heart, body and mind. You showed us the tender sympathy of God. You were and still my Hero.
Adieu my father. I miss you.
Rest in the Lord, true soldier of faith.
From your loving daughter,

My Dearest Father
I rejoice today dearest Dad, for you have gone to the grave empty as you gave your all to willingly and completely fulfill your purpose as my earthly father. The times I stood in the parking lot of my primary school on visiting days, telling myself that before I count the 10th car, daddy’s Volvo will show up (and you did!). You searched for tiny broomsticks with your bare hands in the sand just to help burst blisters on my hand 🙂
While in college, you will show up at my door, panting, because you just carried a 25 liter keg of water up the stairs in your flowing agbada, so I wouldn’t lack.
On some days, you will show up on an empty stomach because you brought breakfast so we could eat together. A lot of my friends knew you, for they saw you on other days waiting patiently for me outside lecture halls.
You followed me around for job searches and you paved the way for me to be who I am today in a foreign land. What more could I have asked for from an earthly father?
I am overjoyed for the grace God gave my siblings and I to pray you into Eternity with your Maker.
Keep enjoying Heaven my Hero, I’ll see you on Resurrection Morning!

A Treasured Father-in-Law
Dear Dad, it’s really sad to hear about your death.I will miss our times together listening to Ebenezer Obey in the car and watching Yoruba movies. You never bothered anyone and always took things easy.
Though you’re gone, you will never be forgotten.
I hope you are in the eternal peace you deserve.
Lekan Olotu.
Forever My Hero
Daddy, You never made noise in the world where men are seeking fame but you had a healthy brood of boys and girls who loved the very ground you trod. You left behind a legacy of Faithfulness, Righteousness, Goodwill and Love.I don't have words to express how much I miss you. You were a dedicated father. You sacrificed your years doing good for us. There wasn't anything you will not do to make our lives better.
We always felt so proud of you Dad and we still feel proud of you.
I miss you terribly dad. You will forever remain my Hero.
Goodnight my daddy.
From your sweet daughter,
Ololade.
We shall see again…thought not for a little while
I have always dreaded your passing. Yet here we are… and I am truly thankful to God for giving me this much time with you. I have never had to question my place in your heart. Your love for me is palpable.I see your love in the names you gave me, in the oriki you sing for me (and all your progeny), and in the deep trust you have in me. I smell your love in your well worn perfume that you gave me.
As I grew up, I realized there is a deep thirst in me to honor you. And this is simply due to the type of person you are. It is your character that has shaped me, more than the education, and discipline you instilled in me. .
From your way of life, I learned to be frugal, and to see that life is so much more than what I possess. I learned to be comfortable in who I am, to not needlessly run after the next shiny thing. My thirst for truth & objectivity comes from you..
My love for kids comes from you. I learned to care for others, and not always put myself first after witnessing your many sacrifices. You taught me the importance of responsibility, of owning what is in my yard to do. .
My sense of gratitude, integrity, compassion, and character can be traced to you. More importantly, You, along with my mother and siblings, planted the seed of faith in Christ in me. Thank you! I am truly grateful. .
I miss your voice. I miss your laughter. I miss your tales and reflection on life, always giving glory to God. I love how you are comfortable in your own skin - you cut your coat according to your size. I love your frugality, wisdom, and how you own your mistakes..
When I speak of you, I will speak of a patriarch by the name Theodore Oladele Odulesi, who was a giant in stature and a gentleman. I will speak of a gentleman who would surpass his humble upbringings, and through immense courage & hard work, forge a path of success. I will speak of a gentle giant who came upon two paths, and quietly took the road less traveled, because it was the right and honorable path to take .
I recall the last time I physically saw you - as I said my goodbyes, I knelt before you, and we held each other's hands in a death grip. I kissed your hands, hugged you and my voice broke. Amidst uncontrolled tears, I kept on telling you that we will see each other again, and you echoed the same thing .
And so we will see each other again…it will be later than I expected but we will see each other again. Rest well in the halls of eternity, with your fathers, and at the feet of the Master, where we shall see again. .
Goodnight my beloved father, Omo wera, oke ti adeiyun, otete arinkoye lona, Omo odoru ni Iperu, Omo mo ruwafu, tolowoye...

Grandpa, I can still hear your voice and the way you called my name always made me skip along with happiness. Aww I will really miss you Grandpa. I remember the times my siblings and I would come to Ijebu Irolu to spend time with you and grandma, your arms were always so wide that you could fit us all in.You were always full of wisdom and encouraged me to study hard and be good. He will be greatly missed
I met Grandpa a few days before my wedding. It was like yesterday. He was a very happy and humorous person. He said many times “Oluwatodimu oruko nla ni" He left a good legacy with great testimonies. He will be greatly missed. My Dear Grandpa
I celebrate you. You lived a wonderful life with so much for us to learn from- your commitment and love for family, community and God.I wish I met you when you were younger just to witness the great things I’ve heard you accomplished. For as long as I can remember, you’ve always been so jolly, gentle and full of love. I could always hear the happiness in your voice whenever we spoke and you would always bless me whenever you saw me.
I’ll miss you dearly. I’ll miss your big smile and the way you affectionately sang “a baby a Sayo, a Sayo a baby” whenever you saw me. I’ll miss holding your hand.
Thank you for being such a wonderful grandfather, thank you for being proud of me. I will always carry you in my heart and cherish the time God blessed us with.
Rest peacefully grandpa,
We love him, and we won't forget him
Grandpa was a very loving and caring granddad. Always letting us have fun, play as much as we liked, and kept us fed. He was very funny and full of joy and laughter. He used to call me “Ayomi okun le le,” which made me very happy because it was very unique and even when people tried to copy him it didn’t sound as good as when he said it.We are going to miss him a lot, we know he is resting with God as he was strong in the faith. We love him, and we won't forget him.
Our Treasured Grandpa
You may have passed on but your memories would always live within us. Thank you for your sacrifices, care and concern and everything you have done for us.Wherever you are, we know you are in a much better place. We will be forever grateful and thankful that you were our grandfather.
Rest on beloved grandpa.
Our Kind Grandpa
My Grandpa was one of the most godly and most upright figures I’ve had in my life. It’s impossible to cram all of the lessons and stories I’ve learnt from him into a couple sentences, but if there’s one thing I know, it’s that one day, I’ll be able to hear his stories again in paradise.~ Shiloh Olotu
My Grandpa was a very kind person with a good heart. In my whole life, I have never seen him get mad before.
He would bring gifts for me and my siblings whenever he would travel to come visit us. I am going to miss him!
~ Toluwa Olotu
I will miss grandpa because he sings for me and prays for me.
I will really miss calling him.
